How to identify which ActiveX controls are running?

Hi,

ENV: IE 6.0+, Windows 2003 Server

We're an ISV and have a customer asking us what ActiveX controls we use so
that they can exclude them from their 'locked down' IE configuration.

We have obviously supplied them with the ones we use, however, we also make
use of a third party component that uses encrypted JavaScript to support
their ASP controls and we can't get into that to see what ActiveX objects
they use.

So, is there any way or tool available that allows us to see what ActiveX
controls have been instantiated in IE?

Regards,
Stu

Hi Stu,

So far as I know, there is no one dedicated utility published for
monitoring the loaded activex component. However, I have one suggestion
that we could use the Process Viewer from Sysinternals.com to check how
many ActiveX component are loaded into the IE process. It will provide the
realtime monitoring on all the loaded files in the lower pane.
Process Explorer

Please feel free to let me know if you have any further question on this
issue.
